Today marks the start of the Queen City's first ever "Innovation Week". The week features several exciting events that celebrate Burlington's growing technology sector, highlighting its social and economic contributions to the city as well as its entrepreneurial and creative spirit. Powered by BTV Ignite and its partners, this year's Innovation Week has an exciting variety of events that are sure to peak the curiosity of any tech professional or enthusiast. The week will start with the annual HackVT Hackathon, where participants will work together to examine existing problems within the community's education system and develop "killer apps" that can contribute to solutions. This 24-hour Hackathon is just one of Burlington's efforts to "build a brighter future for the state of Vermont."
Innovation Week will end with the 10th-annual Tech Jam, a technology career and innovation expo. Vermont's top tech companies and organizations gather to recruit and demonstrate their newest tech explorations. The Tech Jam has several events throughout the weekend, including the Tech Jam awards which acknowledge and celebrate Vermont’s leading tech companies, products, and projects.
