Calling all developers, programmers, and tech enthusiasts:
If you are interested in improving your Javascript and would like to learn more about functional Javascript concepts and how they work in the "real world," consider attending the Burlington JS talk put on by the Vermont Coders Connection: "Beyond the Fat Arrow - Functional Programming in Javascript."
This talk is happening this Wednesday, April 6th and will be held at Burlington's Main Street landing at 6:00pm. There will be two presenters, including Vermont Design Works' very own Director of Development, Ben Glassman. In addition to Matt Parilla of Dealer.com discussing "a quick survey of functional concepts" and how to "use immutable data structures to protect against unwanted side effects", Ben will elaborate on "first class and higher order functions in Javascript." He will also discuss combinators, which use simple functions as building blocks that can be used to develop more complex functions. Function-ception, you might say!
We're sure the talk will be interesting and you will learn a ton! If you haven't already, sign up for the event by clicking here. We hope to see you there!
