Vermont has been chock-full of awesome tech events this fall, and the 2015 Tech Jam--held this weekend, Friday & Saturday October 23-24 at the Sheraton Hotel on Main Street--is yet another to add to the list.
If you are in search of a job in a technical field, are considering attending college for a technical degree, or have any sort of passion for the industry, you will not want to miss this year's Tech Jam. Oh yeah, and we can't forget to mention this is a *free* community event with lots of free swag up for grabs as well... so there's no reason not to join in on the fun!
While you're there, you will have the chance to meet with Vermont's leading tech companies; many of whom have open job positions looking for new talent to join their teams. For instance, VDW will be in attendance, and we would love to meet you! Specifically, if you have front-end and/or back-end web development skills, check out our Careers information and plan to touch base with us this weekend.
We have many colleagues and friends attending the event as well, including Girl Develop It. Be sure to stop by their booth (especially if you are a tech-loving lady)! Girl Develop It hosts meet-ups and classes throughout the year for all skill levels. They are a wonderful resource if you're interested in programming, development, or design.
There will also be intriguing keynote presentations going on throughout the event. These are free, too (though you may need to pre-register here)! Check out some newly developed video games and vote for your favorite, listen to the journeys of local tech guru and learn how to follow in their footsteps, or take a peak at this year's winning HackVT app designed to measure users' daily energy consumption. Or, you can even play some cardboard pinball (what?!). It will be a blast.
And, if you really want to make the most of your weekend... the first-ever International Conference on the Edges of Innovation for Smarter Cities will be held right upstairs from the Tech Jam. Kill two birds with one stone.
We're excited to see all of the tech-loving, smiling faces this weekend. We hope you'll be one of them!
